Wake up Wal-Mart

Over the past couple of years, Wal-Mart has taken some severe blows to its public image—largely due to a relentless effort on the part of the UFCW to shine some light on the company’s shameless employment practices.

Wal-Mart’ workers in every state in the union have joined a growing chorus of citizens who are finally beginning to say, “enough is enough.”

UFCW Local 324 has played a prominent role in the effort to battle this discount Goliath by exposing its sordid history to city councils throughout the region. Wal-Mart has opted to abandon its once grand hopes of saturating the local market with its cheap, substandard products rather than risk a high-profile defeat in those cities.

And finally, through continued pressure from local citizens, workers at the world’s largest employer are beginning to see that unionizing is their only true hope of being treated with respect by the most unscrupulous corporation in history. In doing so, we are protecting the market share of unionized employers everywhere.
